onya Metropolitan Municipality bought
modern funeral transport vehicle which
functional with morgue duty, bathing
possibility, air conditioner to 28 districts of
Konya regarding associated to the center in
accordance with the new Metropolitan Law.
The Metropolitan Mayor Tahir Akyürek said
the costs of the vehicles were nearly TL3
million and interior design was made by the
industry in Konya.
The modern funeral vehicles were purchased
in accordance with the new Metropolitan
Municipality Law involves the towns to be
connected to Metropolitan Municipality.
Tahir Akyürek, Mayor of Konya, stated
investments were continuing in the districts
of metropolitan and neighborhoods in the
framework of the new law, adding that worth
TL100 million as infrastructure and superstruc-
ture investments were made in 3 months.
Recoding lots of services had begun such as
water, sewer system, road, renewing of water
depots, park construction, Mayor Akyürek
stressed Environmental Regulation Plan has
been almost completion stage throughout
Konya. Mayor Akyürek said there are over
1600 graveyards across Konya in the responsi-
bility area of Metropolitan Municipality.
“The plan and projects about the graveyards
have been prepared. The initial control and
cleaning all of them have been done. After
this, our works will continue for both Grave-
yard Information System and reregulation of
the graveyards will continue beginning from
the centers of towns,” Akyürek said.
Reminding that all of 28 funeral vehicles were
modern vehicles with morgue functionality,
bathing opportunity, air conditioner, Mayor
Akyürek stated, “We have bought these
vehicles for one each of our 28 towns. The
cost of the vehicles are nearly TL3 million. One
of the most important features of the vehicles
is their interior design made by the Konya
industry.”
Mayor Akyürek concluded they would invest
worth TL5 billion in metropolitan districts within
5 years in the framework of prepared strate-
gic plan.
