Organic agriculture has found its return in
Meram
Q- Which sector develops much in the regi-
on? Would you list according to their heavi-
ness?
A-In our district due to existing history and
nature one after the other and especially
considering having a significant potential in
the service sector, it is natural to see a de-
velopment in this direction. Not only Meram,
also the number of enterprises, which reflect
the modern face of our city, has increased
remarkably. As I highlighted at the beginning
of our speech, the agriculture sector has
made important progresses in our town. We
can say easily demand of our people for
the organic products has found its respond
in Meram. Meram has a quite luck position
and sensibility of our people in this issue, has
led the sector to make new expansions in this
issue in recent years. Meram has the capa-
city make its name mention with the organic
produces in the next years. As for animal and
animal husbandry sector is inspected to need
modernization.”
We will grow without destroy the environment
Q- What are attractive sides of Meram for
investors?
A-There is an idiom of old people, you know;
“let a home be in front of tomb, a garden in
Meram”… this saying is keeps its importance
today too; because Meram is a reason of
preference with its clean air and continuously
increasing value. Locating on a position close
to the city center, being solved the basic
needs such as transportation, infrastructure
without problem clearly put forward indispen-
sability of Meram. Meram is both close and
remote to the center of the city. It is close;
transport is fairly easy, today which neigh-
borhood you go, there is opportunity to go
in very short times. As for it is farnes; Meram is
remote from the noise, panic of the city, in a
structure gives peace to its dwellers. As a dist-
rict continuously developing, growing; and
while growing without damaging the environ-
ment, made Meram a center that investors
do not quit nowadays as in the past.”
Meram is good with our people
Q- What are the most important problems of
Meram? Would you inform shortly for solving
those?
A- For us one of the most important issues is to
protect the environment; because we know
that the “World does not exist without Konya,
Konya without Meram” Konya is better with
Meram and of course Meram is better with
our people too. When we look through
this perspective, protecting Meram for our
people and offering Meram to the service of
our people is a holy duty for us. Today in this
point; we have problems in the areas where
do not feature as natural protected area,
unplanned settlement area, old housing
stock. Our citizens who live these regions
need child playgrounds, safe environments,
parking lots, walking places. Featuring old,
being démodé, narrow roads, locked streets
do not respond today’s needs. Renewing the
development plans in these regions we have
mobilized together with our team to produce
solution through housing transformation and
renovation. In this aspect, I see the old buil-
ding stock and unplanned construction as a
potential. With wish and approval of majority
of our citizens in the places where have been
subjected to the urban transformation our
applications will enter into force. Every service
we will make will be shaped according to the
wish of citizens in Meram. We will be persis-
ting in this issue. In addition, our making new
roads that are needed, also infrastructure
and asphalting works will continue intensively.
Our works on the projects are continuing to
raise local trade to upper levels. We will also
make up the specialization areas in agricultu-
re and animal. In order to remove troubles in
the neighborhoods where development and
infrastructure problems exist our works are
continuing in an intensive way.
Meram is enough to live!
Q- Where are the places in the region that
developed in recent years? How this deve-
lopment will continue?
A- In recent years, we observe the develop-
ment in the local areas where development
plans have been revised, improved with a
new point of view. In order to spread our de-
velopment increasingly across our district we
