Avcı, Gunes company produces all kinds of engine
valves for automotive industry in Konya, where is
known as one of the important center for automotive. 45
percent of production is exported. The company is the
second largest one in the production of engine valves.
There are more than 1500 kinds of valves in the produ-
ction line of the factory of 20 thousand sqm in Konya
Organized Industrial Zone. Products are sold to buyers in
various countries, mostly in Europe and in Africa. “Once
we were selling to Chinese in the past, but we could not
compete with them on prices. There are higher taxes in
South American markets, however, we can increase our
sales in these countries. The crisis in Europe has effected
us, thus our prices are the same for two three years in this
region. Quality is the secret of our success. We stand firm
behind our products and provided high level of custo-
mer satisfaction. We participate fairs and other promoti-
onal activities.” says, Mr. Avcı.
“We want to increase our presence in South and
North American markets. We also targeted to inc-
rease the amount of products sold in export markets
from 6 million valves to 8 million by the end of the
year.” says, Mustafa Avcı, general manager of Gunes
Engine Valves company.
