ctor in Turkey, Seiso Energy provides supplies, projects,
engineering and turn-key contracting services. Having
realized many projects in several industries, the company
emphasizes on solar energy. İsmail Hakkı Karaca, general
manager of the company answered our questions:
Would you brief us about your company?
It was founded by a group of entrepreneurs having expe-
riences in different sides of the energy business, to serve as
a supplier and contractor in both Turkey and in neighboring
countries. Seiso has realized projects in many small and
medium sized solar, thermal and photovoltaic systems. He-
adquartered in Konya, a province that the energy ministry
has decided to issue the largest amount of licenses on solar
facilities in Turkey.
What can be said about the growing solar electric producti-
on market in Konya and in Turkey?
Solar energy has become a hot topic recently in Turkey’s
agenda. Turkey has about 380 billion kW/h solar energy po-
tential. However, only a small part of it could be utilized des-
pite all the growing numbers of new investments, in which
Konya is in the leading position. One of the most productive
locations for solar power, a solar central of 3 thousands MW
is planned in Karapinar, Konya.
How was the year 2013 for Seiso energy company?
The limit for licenced production of electric energy was
up to 1 MWe from 500 kWp with a decree of the Ministry
in October 2013. Thus every company can produce their
own energy without getting any license from the authorities
even to sell energy to national network. The amount of this
