The impetus was given to the infra structural projects in
recent years in order to upgrade and restructure the
production capacity of Konya. Among them: Konya
Plain Project (KOP- the irrigation project for Konya pla-
in), Divided Highway Project, Fast Train Project, Bayhe-
kim Health Complex are the major ones.
According to the technical studies undertaken by The
Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, the southern
part of Konya proved to be feasible for solar energy
investments. Konya Governorship has allocated three
portions of land totaling 60,000 decares for solar energy
investments in Karapınar town of Konya, the vast land
of which is not suitable for agriculture. The land has
been named as “Energy Industry Zone”, thereby being
ready for energy investors.
To sum up, it is targeted that a far reaching irrigation
system will be completed; organic agriculture and
quality milk production will be given an impetus; total
number of tourists and industrial production will increase
remarkably. Besides, Konya will be a prominent health
center, the province will be connected to the major
ports via railways, and alternative energy systems will be
initiated, thereby upgrading the national income of the
region above the country’s average.
Konya has turned out to be an attractive center for
investors. From the standpoint of investors, human
capital, transportation , other infrastructural facilities
and investment certificates of the region are of utmost
importance.
As known, remarkable targets were set for the year
2023. Turkish economy is targeted to be one of the top
ten economies of the world by the year 2023 with $2
trillion of income and $ 500 bn of export.
Konya is poised for the vision ”Turkey 2023” more than
ever. Mevlana Development Agency (Mevlana Kalkın-
ma Ajansı-MEVKA) was established to determine the
major targets of Konya-Karaman region for the year
2023.
In order to achieve the targets of ”Turkey 2023”, Konya
has a part to play by utilizing its resources and the com-
petitive advantages to the fullest extent.
A promising future lies ahead for us because the eco-
nomic dynamics of Konya has been able to cope with
the global challenges. We are determined to do our
utmost best to pave the way for the prosperity of Konya
and our country through the spirit of solidarity and
cooperation.
In order to achieve the targets of “ Turkey
2023”, Konya has a part to play by utilizing
its resources and the competitive advantages
to the fullest extent. A promising future lies
ahead for us because the economic dynamics
of Konya has been able to cope with the global
challenges.
