According to the data given by Memis Kutukcu, chairman of Konya
chamber of industry and board member of TOBB, 8 month’s exports
is over 1 billion dollars. Chairman said, during the last 12 months
exports from Konya was recorded as 1.525 billion dollars.
Despite a smaller slowdown in August and harder downing in June
exports data have began to rise lately. Exports to Iraq is also began
to rise and it increased 12.4 percent in August and reached to 13
million dollars. Exports from Konya increased 15.8 percent in the
eight months of this year, he said.
Chairman Kutukcu said, “Konya has become an industrial city with
its high quality products exported to four corners of the world. We
as the chamber of industry keep our efforts going to support our
industrialists to find new export markets and opportunities and help
them in their efforts on this direction.”
